How we work
Workflow first. AI where it helps. Custom only when it's worth it.
We know when to use AI, and when not to. Every recommendation starts with how the work actually gets done in your business.
The order we try things in
Most problems don’t need new technology. We work up this list and stop at the first step that solves the problem well:
- Use what you already own. Your accounting, booking, practice or store software, and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, often include automation and AI features that nobody has set up.
- Connect it with low-code automation. Tools such as Power Automate, Zapier or Make join systems together without custom software.
- Add a specialist AI service. When a task needs it, such as reading varied documents or drafting from your own content, we choose a service that fits the job, your budget and your data.
- Build custom only when it’s justified. If nothing off the shelf fits and the business case is clear, we build, and we document it so you aren’t dependent on us.
How each piece of work runs
- Understand the work. We talk to the people who do it and look at the systems involved.
- Measure a baseline. Time, errors, response times or costs, measured before we change anything.
- Pilot with people in control. A small test where your team reviews and approves every step.
- Decide on the evidence. If the measures clear the bar we agreed, we roll it out. If not, we adjust or stop.
Our commitments
- No long contracts. Projects have a fixed scope and fee. Ongoing support is month to month.
- No licence quotas. We don’t earn commission on software or seats. Sometimes our advice is to cancel something.
- No single-vendor agenda. We work across Microsoft, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, open-weight models and industry platforms, and recommend what fits your situation.
- You keep what we build. You receive the documentation, settings and access to run or move every workflow we set up.
How we handle data and AI choices
We match tools to how sensitive your information is. Public marketing copy can use almost any reputable service. Client-confidential, personal or health information needs tools with suitable contracts, data residency and settings, and sometimes infrastructure you control. We write down where your data goes so you can make informed decisions.
Your privacy obligations, including under Alberta law, stay with your business. Our work is practical and operational, not legal advice, and we’ll tell you when to involve your legal adviser.
Working with your IT provider
If you have a managed IT provider, we work alongside them. They keep your systems secure and supported; we focus on how the work flows through them. Read more about working with IT providers.
Start with one workflow
Tell us about the task that eats the most time. We'll talk it through, look at what you already use, and suggest a sensible first step — with no obligation to go further.
